Maxine Trainer Art
Embedded in this web page are photos of the "School House" of North Brevard Arts In The Garden, a 501(c)(3) non-profit art project of artist Maxine Trainer in Titusville FL. The program provides art classes to the underprivilidged youth of her neighborhood, and has been operating for 14 years. As you can see from the photos, the school house, and most of Maxine's back yard behind her house is underwater, and has been since Hurriane Irma hit the area on September 10th. The water needs to be pumped from the yard to the Stormwater sewage pipes on Tropic St, a few hundred yards from whre the flooding has occurred. She has made requests for assistance via the 211 system, and through FEMA, and the Tituville Public Works department. While people have been sent out to asses the damage, nothing has been done to deal with the algae, and sewage infested waters. The flooding has occurred due to the insufficient stormwater drainage along Tropic St, because of the city of Titusville's inability to deal with the problem over the years. Ms Trainer has submitted numerous requests for aid to remove the unhealthful waters, and while people from the city have come out to asses the damage, nothing has yet to be done to pump out the waters.
